25 JULY 2009: Republic Artists Boat Party @ Scala

Summer, we all hope, pray and honestly believe (really) is almost upon us... but just to be safe you should all sacrifice a virgin to appease the Sun god!
In preparation for the not too distant future, where London will be submerged beneath the ocean due to global warming, Republic Artists will be hosting the good time event of the season with a boat party on the Thames.
If feel-good house music was money we'd be up to our asses in Somali pirates before we even got to Tower Bridge. However it isn't, so the fabulous Dutch Master (capacity 370) will be free to journey rockingly (metaphorically) through East London and hopefully back.
There are 3 open decks to watch the setting sun over Canary Wharf, the Dome, the Thames barrier and the old wharf warehouses of the 19th century. That is if you can drag yourself away from either of the 2 dance floors on board, with their amazing line-up of DJs from the UK, Europe and South America.
So for more randomness than the fate of the S.S.Minnow, and more happy endings than a series of the Love Boat, check out our DJ crew:

Joe T. Vannelli once entitled a song the ‘Sweetest Day of May’ - and, looking at our Kinky calendar, we’re sure he meant the 9th of May. It is on THIS day that Kinky Malinki embark on a sun-soaked cruise down the Thames river on their boat party and then gallivant for a little while longer at Pacha London with house music legend, CJ Mackintosh.
Headlining at Pacha will be our own Godfather of House, CJ Mackintosh. The man is still a firm favourite with clubbers across the globe more than 20 years after winning the DMC Championship title and hitting the top of the UK charts with ‘Pump Up The Volume’ in 1987. Then Ministry of Sound had him as their resident, being one of a select few who could master epic 10-hour sets thus confirming his ‘godfather’ status.
These days, his eye for sourcing out new music and hitting clubbers with exactly the right tune at the right time is something that only CJ can do. Mr Mackintosh casts a spell over a room whenever he DJs and creates something that no other DJ can. If you’ve been lucky enough to have populated a club when this legend has been behind the decks you’ll know EXACTLY what we mean.
Now that the clocks have gone forward, the scent of summer is in the air and the temperatures are getting warmer - let Kinky kick off the night with a journey along the Thames. Hundreds of clubbers aboard the Kinky ship, sailing with the sweet sound of house music breezing in their ears. Feel free to roam the upper deck’s saloon which leads out onto the sundeck - perfect for gazing at the night sky and viewing some of London’s most magical sights; most of them spectacularly lit.
Once the boat returns to Temple Pier, we will then disembark and head straight for our exclusive after-party at Pacha London.

After the staggering success of Poisoned Republic at Scala barely two weeks ago, the RA gang are still on a high. We, and everyone else there lucky enough to experience this awesome party, have some fantastic memories (or not, in some cases). And we can’t wait to do it all again. So, we will!

For the biggest and final night of the year, Republic Artists are here to rock Clubland again by teaming up with red-hot party legends Dirty Dubbin to pretty much guarantee you one of the best nights out in the capital with their NYE Masqued Ball.

After a long wait for all The Poison and Republic Artists return with our biggest collaboration to date. On the 22nd of November we will be taking over one the most famous clubs in London “The Scala”. This event will be a double birthday bash, it’s the 3rd birthday for The Poison and it’s Republic Artists 1st Birthday. To honor the occasion we have dubbed the night “POISONED REPUBLIC”. We also welcome the return of E-Club tv who will be filming the night and broadcasting it later in the year.

Republic Artists have had a wild 12 months since their opening party just before Christmas last year. Not only have they revisited Factory for their summer party, they've made waves on the Thames with their rocking boat party in May, sold out club Hidden, ruined many Monday’s with their Sunday Shift parties in Camden, DJ'ed to mad Ceskys and tourists in Plzen and Prague on their European tour, and spread their Keep Clubland Alive message in the best place on Earth: IBIZA! Where they played for Cream @ Amnesia.

Their 3 years have been equally spectacular , being involved in last year’s closing parties in Ibiza, constantly filling clubs like Hidden, Mass, and the Colosseum in London, and recently playing the main room at Ministry of Sound with Italian techno legend Mauro Picotto.

And like most parties with a 3 and 1 year old, it will be messy! Expect mayhem, hyperactivity, and lots and lots of fun. No presents (though there may be some unwrapping), just your presence is all that's required.
